For those looking for inspiration for the perfect piece of furniture, I always recommend that my clients check out some of the local furniture exhibits, such as the rotating displays that take place year-round at the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association (NHFMA) Gallery in Concord, New Hampshire.

There are those that have an appreciation for truly unique furniture design, and if you fall into this category, I wanted to mention the MiniatureChairMan. Tom Giannini, a London-based architect that is passionate about design, founded the Miniature Chair Man blog to document his miniature chair collection.

The purpose of his blog is not only to serve as a forum to discuss the inventive and creative designs of the chairs, but to also connect with other collectors that may be interested in potentially trading chairs. He enjoys discovering designers that he was previously unfamiliar with and focuses on collecting either newly released, retired, or Special Edition chairs. To date, Giannini has collected over 350 chairs that typically are on a 1:6 scale.

Even though these chairs are miniature versions, there is still much to appreciate about their craftsmanship. To learn more about the general craftsmanship of chair design, or to commission your own furniture piece, contact me, Richard Oedel.
