I talk a lot about my involvement with the New Hampshire Furniture Masters, as the organization puts on a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year that are ideal for those searching for inspiration or information before commissioning a piece of furniture.

On July 10, the NH Historical Society will be holding an opening for the NH Furniture Masters exhibit. This would be a great chance to get familiar with some of our contemporary works and styles. The NHHS is located in Concord, NH and the event will run from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

Also, whether you are on the hunt for the perfect piece of furniture, or are just interested in the craft of furniture making, mark your calendar for Sunday, August 17 at 5:30 pm for the Castle in the Clouds exhibition and reception. This one-of-a-kind event will take place at the Lucknow Estate in Moultonborough. What makes this exhibition so unique is that you’ll get to hear from some of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters in a discussion about their newly created masterpieces while enjoying a glass of wine. Plan to stick around afterwards for the opportunity to chat one-on-one with these presenters and gain some valuable insight about the furniture making craft and some characteristics that you may be looking for in your next piece of furniture.

We will also have another pop-up exhibit featured in Boston on August 1 through August 15. The exhibit will feature more of our programs’ contemporary work, including pieces from some of the NH and Maine prison programs. This will run from 10 am to 7 pm daily.

Feel free to contact me, Richard Oedel, to learn more about these exhibits. I’d also love to answer any questions that you may have about the New Hampshire Furniture Masters.
