You often hear me talk about the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association (NHFMA), but I thought I would give you a bit more background on it.  NHFMA is an organization that was founded by New Hampshire fine furniture craftsmen in 1993. It was initially created in an effort to raise the awareness of the state’s fine furniture makers and to encourage the purchase of locally made furniture. It has grown to some 30 Masters, all selected by a jury process, and has a deep educational commitment to the craft of furniture making. We also host a number of events throughout the year to get the people excited about “home grown” fine furniture, such as our annual gala and series of exhibitions featuring our artists’ creations.

In addition, we sponsor prison education programs in two states, Maine and New Hampshire, and a mentorship program that helps early-career furniture makers develop and refine their design and technical skills.

For more about any of our programs or events, please contact me, Richard Oedel, Fine Furniture Master and Chairman of NHFMA
