The New Hampshire Furniture Masters host a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year that are ideal to attend. For those that are passionate about the art of furniture making, or who are considering commissioning a custom piece of furniture, a great event that runs through May 30 is the “School of Thought” Exhibition Series: California’s College of the Redwoods.

The exhibit is taking place at the New Hampshire Furniture Master’s Gallery on South Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire and features pieces that have been crafted by graduates of College of the Redwoods, which is considered to be one of the top cabinetmaking programs in the country. Works from Furniture Masters John Cameron, Tim Coleman, and Sam Norris will be featured at the event.

The furniture program at College of the Redwoods was founded by legendary cabinetmaker James Krenov, and he built the program around his passion for clean, harmonious design. For this reason, students of this program are very detail oriented in regards to their work and pay close attention to the richness of the wood and the tools used, which help to really create a personal message with each piece that they craft. I think that you will find this philosophy evident as you take the time to browse through each of the displayed pieces.
