Searching for the perfect piece of fine furniture is no easy task, and you owe it to yourself to take the time to research exactly what you are looking for. Attending some of the featured museum exhibits that I often share on my design blog is a great place to start for inspiration. I also encourage my clients to visit the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association (NHFMA) Gallery on South Main Street in Concord, New Hampshire to see pieces created by some of the region’s finest furniture makers.

While the NHFMA Gallery features exhibits year-round, the current exhibit, Fast Forward: Mentoring Makers, runs through November 12. Trust me, this is one that you should not miss, since it consists of pieces made by up-and-coming makers.  If you happen to see something that you like, you have the opportunity to purchase the piece of furniture from the gallery. Or, if you happen to find something at the gallery that you really like but would prefer it just a bit different, you can work directly with a Furniture Master to have your own custom piece of furniture made.

To learn more about how this process works, please feel free to contact me, Richard Oedel, Fine Furniture Master.
