For those that are considering commissioning a piece of furniture, I always recommend attending as many shows and exhibitions throughout the region as possible for inspiration and to get a better idea of what you are looking for.

One event that you should be sure to include on your calendar is the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Winter Show, which takes place now through March 10 at the Furniture Masters Gallery in Concord, New Hampshire. I, myself, am a member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association and will have work featured at this gallery along with esteemed furniture craftsmen Aurelio Bolognesi, Jon Brooks, Greg Brown, Thomas Latourelle, David Masury, Sam Norris and Jeff Roberts.

Our unique organization was formed in 1993 to help raise the awareness of New Hampshire’s fine furniture makers and to encourage people to support these local businesses. We hold a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year that are open for the public to attend, so please be sure to check out our list of upcoming events.

Attending our winter show will not only provide you with the opportunity to potentially meet some of the furniture masters in person, but can also give you a better idea of the quality of work that we produce. If you like what you see, you can purchase an existing piece of furniture from our gallery or choose to work directly with a furniture master to have a custom piece made.

To learn more about this upcoming event and how the commissioning process works, please contact me, Richard Oedel, Fine Furniture Master: 617-763-1349.
